Nine previous majors winners along with the last four of the Viking Classic winners have come to be among the players committing to be playing in the upcoming Viking Classic, as the deadline for committing to the tournament passed on October 23, 2009.
The defending champion, who is Will MacKenzie, is going to be on the schedule to play, along with David Toms, a former championship winner with the PGA Tour. He is the highest ranking player on the year's money list in this field, and he is sitting at 14th rank and has earned more than $3 million dollars so far this year.
This is a $3.6 million dollar PGA Tour event that is set to be held between October 29 and November 1, and it is going to be held at the Annandale Golf Club which is located in Madison. The winner of this championship tournament is going to win a total of $648,000, and they are going to also win a 2 year Tour exemption as well.
There have been a number of past winners that have returned and are in the field again, and these winners include Lee Janzen, Todd Hamilton, Steve Elkington, David Duval, John Daly, Ben Curtis, Mark Calcevecchia and Rich Beem.

Trahan, who won in the year 2006 as well as Heath Slocum, who is a former resident of Vicksburg and who managed to take the win in the year 2005 at Annandale.
