Anthony Kim is finally getting a chance to go head to head with Tiger Woods, a moment that he says he has been waiting for all of his life. Kim managed to keep cool after a few blinders at the Congressional, though he managed to save par from 84 years following a creative chip that he had been previously too afraid to try. He landed a birdie on the 16th that managed to lead him into a 2 under par for 68, claiming a top spot in the leader board.
Tiger Woods on the other hand lost a three shot lead in only two holes by double bogeying on the 11th hole. He found a final birdie on the 16th green with an up-the-slope put and salved one heck of a roller coaster round at a score of 70.
This allowed him to have a share of the lead along with Kim sitting at 10 under 210, giving Congressional one heck of a showdown that many have been craving since the tournament originally rolled into action. The host of the tournament this year is Tiger Woods who is 33 years old. The defending champion is Kim, who is only 24 years old. Kim has long since dreamed of beating Tiger Woods, ever since he began his golfing career as a young child.
Woods currently has a 45-3 record on the current PGA Tour circuit and he has at least a share of the lead of 54-holes. Ryan Moore from Puyallup on the other hand currently is tied for eighth at 6 under par at 69, and Fred Couples from Seattle is tied for 22nd place at 3 under par.
In Sylvania Ohio, Yi has shot a 10 under 61, allowing her to take a four stroke lead in the third found of what is known as the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. We are talking about a 21 year old South Korean golfer who is seeking her very first tour victory in the LPGA Tour. She had an eagle coupled with eight birdies which allowed her to reach 18 below 195 at the Highland Meadows. Tied for second place are Morgan Pressel, 67, and Song-Hee Kim, No. 64.
Out of all 23 of her LPGA tour starts, Yi had not yet managed a top ten finish until now. She was surprised to find out that she was in the lead this time around. Wendy Ward, no. 67 tied for thirteenth place at 10 under par, and Jimin Kang, no. 72 managed to tie for 68th place at 3 under par.
Rafa Echenique took the lead over Martin Kayfer in the French Open with a 1 under 70, taking a single stroke lead against his opponent. He is coming off of a second place finish last week which came out of Munich in Germany, with a total of 11 under 202.
