The tournament director behind the Wyndham Championship has managed to secure more commitments for the game right at the deadline as the field was finally set for the upcoming PGA Tour stop at the Sedgefield Country Club.
The field has now grown to include a number of notable players, including four more notable players that signed on at the very last minute on Friday Night.
According to the tournament director, Adam Scott, Ryan Moore, Sergio Garcia and Charles Howell III have all made commitments in this latest batch.
These are definitely some phenomenal commitments at the very last minute, especially when it comes to the international appeal that Garcia and Scott both carry. They are both fan favorites, an so having them in the field for Wyndham is going to be fantastic. This is going to be the second appearance in Greensboro for both golfers, who both played there during 2005 as well.
Organizers are currently touting the fact that 13 golfers that have recently won major championships are all scheduled to be teeing off during this tournament, which is slated to begin this upcoming Thursday. Fred Couples, K. J. Choi, Stuart Appleby and Justin Rose are also among the golfers that have recently committed to the tournament field.
They are joining a group that is also expected to be including the following players: Lee Janzen, Tim Clark, Cory Pavin, Chris Di Marco, Steve Elkington, Todd Hamington and Mark Calcaveccia.
Among the list of earlier commitments were David Toms, Boo Weekley, David Duval and Rocco Mediate and Brandt Snedeker who are former champions of the tournament.
Former University Players from Wake Forest, Bill Haas as well as Web Simpson both agreed to join this tournament and to participate. Another former Wake Forest golfer, who is Billy Andrade, was recently added as an excemption by the Sponsor.
Another player in the sponsor exemption field is John Daily. Another sponsors exemption that was recently added was Paul Azinger, but he has recently withdrawn as a result of an injury that was sustained during the PGA Championship.

Choi, Stuart Appleby and Justin Rose, Lee Janzen, Tim Clark, Cory Pavin, Chris Di Marco, Steve Elkington, Todd Hamington and Mark Calcaveccia, David Toms, Boo Weekley, David Duval and Rocco Mediate and Brandt Snedeker, Bill Haas, Web Simpson and Billy Andrade.
