| Loved it, loved it, loved it ... I got my Neo Monday Night. Downloaded some courses that night and golfed with it Tuesday Night. Absolutely perfect for what I wanted. At $149 and a one time membership fee to download 100 courses (not an annual fee to keep it running) who could want more? Neo told me distances to front/center/back and that's all I needed. Checked the markings on the course and they were right on. It's best used when you're off in the rough, angled away from the fairway distances and need a distance from your "current line" of sight. Distances to the center of the green off any line was dead on. Any green I missed last night was because of my shot, not club selection. I really liked it ... and I liked it because I didn't spend $400+ on color pictures of stuff I don't need or use and I don't have to pay an annual fee to keep turning it on year after year!!! If you're a mid handicapper like me, can execute but just need accurate distances from anywhere (and not from dead center of the fairway), this is the tool. It's great. Next, I need to learn how to add points on the holes with water and sand and all that junk. I'm excited ... can you tell? Loved it!!! |

| The iGolf Neo was my first GPS unit for golf. I've had the laser range finders, and this Neo makes finding the distance much quicker. Though it does not give distance to the pin, it is very accurate to all areas of the green. I've been able to download all courses that I need. The "shot distance" feature makes betting on "long drives" fun because you can measure the exact distance to each ball. Mapping each hole is simple, and you can map 4 different things per hole. And it is literally so small, you'll forget it is in your pocket. And I do keep it in my pocket, because the only negative thing is that the unit does not stay in the plastic belt clip very securely. Oh, and did I mention that it's the lowest priced GPS unit out there?? Well worth the money!! |
A wonderful device -- but check for courses available

I have had the iGolf Neo for a week now and couldn't be happier. My golfing buddies drool over it! The device is very fast and very accurate and I love its small size. As reported in various golf forums, the only problem is the belt clip holder: the first time I played with the Neo, the device fell out, and I had to re-trace my steps on the golf course to find it. Whew! However, I now simply stuff it in my pocket, and that works fine. Other electronic devices tend to get more expensive as they get smaller -- not so with the Neo, which is much less expensive than the competition. I was ready to buy a Skycaddie 2.5 until I came across the lower-price and more convenient Neo. A real winner!
Note: Here is a follow-up to the above review, written two months later: I continue to be very satisfied with the Neo. I have used it many times at my home course and have also used it at several other courses, both in Canada and the US. Only 1 of these courses was not available for downloading from the website, and this may be due to the fact that this particular course (where the PGA holds a tournament) provides a caddie (i.e., the caddie had a yardage book and gave me my distances for every shot). Customer service from iGolf is pretty good: sometimes the iGolf website has been down; sometimes the live customer support is not available; and, a couple of email inquiries have gone unanswered. But all in all, I am extremely happy with the Neo. |

| Add me to the list or 5 STAR reviewers. This little dude is great. I did not buy a course - simply mapped the one I play regularly. Mapped the course and many additional points in a little over an hour. It's so simple. The distances are accurate and almost immediate - no waiting. The distance feature is fun and allows you to calibrate your club distance. I have played 3 rounds so far and will play the fourth tomorrow. Battery shows 45% remaining. I'll charge it after my 4th round. It has every feature that I need and I can see no need for a more expensive model. I carry it in a cell phone holster on my belt - simply get it out, one glance, and fire away. LOVE IT! LOVE IT! |

I looked long and hard at all of the GPS options out there before deciding on the neo. It turns out I made the right choice. The neo does everything I need it do do. Distance to front, center, and back is very easy to read, and makes it very simple to figure a yardage to the pin within 1-2 yards. The shot distance feature is very easy to use as well. I was a little worried about it not advancing automatically to the next hole, but I have just gotten into the habit of clicking the button when walking off the green.
The size is fantastic. It easily fits in my front pocket without me even noticing it. If you don't want it in your pocket, I would suggest either buying the leather case, or picking up a cheap cell phone case to keep it on your belt. The clip is junk for anyone with any type of a gut as the unit falls out pretty easily when bumped. This is the only thing I can really speak negatively about.
The software is easy to figure out. It may not be extraordinarily sleek, but is highly functional. One of the appeals of this unit was that you pay for 100 courses one time, then they are yours. No annual subscription fee to pay like golflogix or skycaddie. What a rip-off. For the Garmin in my wife's car, we download a map update and it is ours for all time. I see no reason golf courses should be any different. That was probably the biggest deciding factor between the neo and the Garmin for me.
Battery life has been fantastic. Can easily get three to four rounds in. The other thing that is great about the battery is how well it holds charge between rounds. I hadn't played in 3 weeks because of an ankle injury and had forgot to plug in the neo the night before. It still had almost a full charge from 3 weeks prior and I was able to get through the round with no problem.
All in all, I couldn't be happier with the neo. It speeds up pace of play and helps maintain a much better rhythm to my rounds allowing me to focus on the shot at hand better. I don't see any reason I would need any more information than what it provides. |

I just completed my first round with my new igolf neo and I can't begin to explain how satisfied I am with my purchase. for those who are not looking for all the bells and whistles of the new skycaddie, this is the golf gps for you.
I typically shoot in the mid-high 70's. I was planning on investing in a new driver but decided to get one of these instead. I think this useful gadget will do much more to help me get over the hump to drop my handicap to the low single digits
PROS
-small enough to keep in your pocket.
-long battery life
-I love the shot distance feature
-one time $35 fee to download 100 courses (no monthly charges).
-accurate!
-much better build quality than i expected
-plot custom points on the fly
-pre mapped hazards already built into most most courses
-easy to set up and download...even with vista!
CONS:
-the belt clip is garbage
-the unit can be slippery (try not to drop it...use two hands)
-can take up to 10-15 minutes to obtain gps signal (turn it on as soon as you get to the course)
I managed to save 3-4 strokes today hitting blind shots relying only on the yardage readings on my neo and the pin placements on my scorecard. Plus now that I dont have to pace out my yardage from the sprinkler heads, play seems to go much smoother and I have one less thing to distract me from making a smooth, solid stroke as I approach my ball.

Great GPS Golf Device for me

The iGolf Neo arrived here and was everything it was advertised to be - and more.
Installation and course downloads were very easy. I do not relish spending a lot of time on that sort of task so I was very satisfied.
The courses available included a local nine hole executive length muni here. I practice there often and that signalled a quite complete the database.
I use the distance to green but now am also routinely doing the shot distance routine.
I can fish this small unit from my back pocket - check the distaces/set the shot distance monitor - whatever - and toss it right back in there and take my next shot. Good battery life so far - good signal acquisition - very affordable. |

| This is truly the best buy in Golf GPS devices. My golf buddy has the more expensive device (Skycaddy) and we play together. The Neo compares on mosty all accounts and the downloading of courses is much less expensive. Only improvement I would want to see, is a way to hang the Neo on your golf bag. by the way I used next day UPS and it worked like a charm. |
It's a winner!

| I got this as birthday gift for my husband fully expecting he may choose to trade up to one of the more expensive models, but after reading the reviews and doing my research, I felt this was a great choice for the money. He then did more research after receiving his gift and decided to try it out. The result - it's a winner. He loves the small size and it does everything he wanted it to do. The only thing its missing is the cool graphics some models have, but he said that's really not important - especially because the small sizing makes it so convenient. |

The basic idea is to get the distance from where u stand to the green so that you can choose the right club. Another variation is to find the distance you have hit with a club. iGolf Neo does both of these things very well. So far the gps units were all in the $400 range and now there is an very affordable product.
I took this product for a few rounds now and i have to say it has helped me tremendously..
Pros - Fairly easy to use. Quick to get the satellite signals and get going after u turn it on.
For a $30 membership you get 100 credits. Not that for each 9 hole a credit applies. So for 18 holes, 2 credits apply.
But you don't need to get a membership since you can map the course yourself with a little effort.
Cons -
The abbreviations for points other than front, center, back would take some time getting used to.
if you get a membership and download the same course multiple times, credits are deducted each time you download. you have to call igolf to get your credit back. This is a small effort only.
If the gps info is not available, you have a single credit which applies towards requesting a course to be mapped. Not sure why it is that way..
The belt clip that comes with the product is useless since it keeps popping out of the clip. You can get a leather case of a cellphone that somehow fits the Neo quite well. |

| The iGolf neo does exactly what it was designed to do - give yardage. It doesn't keep your score, or calculate your handicap, or tie your shoes. It is a very simple, easy to use GPS unit. It fits in your pocket. The shot distance calculator is a nice addition. iGolf seems to have a lot of courses in their system and you can request additional ones (although I have no idea how long it will take them to update). The battery life is long. I have played 45 holes so far and it still says 55% left. The backlight is very bright during the twilight hours. The custom points that are already programmed in the courses are great. So, if you are looking for a simple golf GPS unit then I highly recommend this one. If you are looking for a unit that cleans your clubs, look elsewhere. |

| I'm not one for reading directions and the neo proved to be easy to use the first time out. I thought I knew how far I hit my irons, this little gadget showed me a thing or two about true yardage. a real strokesaver. Not a lot of extras on this unit, just what you need to cut strokes off your round. The most bang for your buck!!!! |
Exceeded all expectations

I bought this for my boyfriend, and worried that he would want a model with more bells & whistles (i.e. color display) I needn't have worried, this is the perfect product for him. Here is his review:
"I am thrilled with my iGolf Neo. I have owned it for over a month and it has exceeded all my expectations!
Size: It easily fits in my pocket, or securely rests in various locations in any riding cart.
Ease of operation: It is very simple to get yardages to front/center/back of green. If you know general pin placement, all that is left is hitting the proper club. The "shot" button is very cool when tracking your distances hit, so you can dial in all your clubs. Push it once from where you hit and again when you get to your ball - the Neo shows you exactly how far you hit it.The Neo covers points on holes (bunkers, creeks, water, etc) but also allows you to add points very easily or completely map the hole the way you want.
The biggest surprise for me is the power source. The battery life on this little gem is unreal! I walked 4 holes after first receiving my Neo just to check how accurate the yardages were and how many "points" were included per hole. Basically, just learning how it worked, I then played 6 rounds of golf without recharging the unit. After all of that, the battery indicator still showed 35% of it's life left. The higher priced competitors use 2-4 AA batteries and you're lucky to get a couple of rounds out of them before needing more batteries.
I have wanted a golf GPS for years but didn't want to spend $300+ and I was a skeptic (and somewhat apprehensive) about the Neo. Don't be, buy yourself a Neo! It makes the game much more enjoyable, much quicker (you don't spend time looking for yardage markers) - and you will be a better golfer. I am a bogey golfer and shot a 79 the second round I played with my Neo. What are you waiting for?"
I loaded the software and downloaded the courses for him. The initial set-up was a breeze, as was the downloading (though I would like to be able to select courses and put them in a 'shopping cart' to download all at once) I had a bit of a glitch when trying to get the courses onto his Neo at first, apparently due to an interrupted transfer. Whatever went wrong created a roadblock and I fought with the process for quite awhile before simply wiping everything out and starting over. Since then it has all been a piece of cake; quick & easy. |

There is nothing fancy about the iGolf Neo but it does the job well. It will give you front, center and back distances and you can get your distance after each shot. After the unit is turned on, it can take a little while to acquire the satellites, but once that is done the numbers are accurate as you would expect within a couple yards.
The software to download the courses is pretty simple to use. Just follow the instructions on the 4x4 card. The unit holds 10 courses which has been plenty for me on the trips I have taken so far. Every course I have wanted to play has been on the site and I have had the need to download quite a few thanks to some golf trips to Myrtle Beach. Great database of courses.
The belt clip makes carrying the Neo easy, I tend to forget it is there. I expect I will buy a phone carrying case just to protect the screen while it is on my hip.
The unit has a built in battery and uses between charges is typically 3 rounds. I don't let it get that low so it isn't a big deal. With the option to charge via the usb cable hooked to my computer or using the wall socket adapter, charging is easy.
This unit does not automatically advance to the next hole but I find that a pro and not a con. If you hit an errant shot and end up where you shouldn't, you still want your distance to the hole you are playing, not the one you are currently standing on. The buttons are also a little small but still usable. Only if you have extremely large fingers would it be a problem. Even so, I would think a dull tee would work fine.
For under $150 and 100 course downloads for under $40, it is easily the most economical choice for gps devices. If you don't need to see the hole layout on your device, this is a no brainer purchase. |

I purchased the "Neo" last week and right out of the box I charged it and went straight to my golf course and mapped the first nine holes. Later that afternoon I played the nine holes with a foursome and boy did I have the advantage. I didn't let them know I had the "neo" and I hit every green in regulation. I have a 20 handicap, because my putting is the weakest part of my game. (maybe they will have a gps for my putting game!
Well back to the game...I hit fade off the tee which put me in bounds in the opposite fair way, my neo said a 118 yds to the center of the green, that I could not see low bushes. I knew the exact club to pull and bam I hit it just right, these guys were amazed at my pin point accracy. The "Neo after 2 hrs and 15 min. still showed a full charge. I was pulling clubs with confidence and hitting away. I knew what I needed to carry water and when to lag up! WOW... Sky Caddie will now have to drop their price or go out of business, or try to buy out itechnology which I don't think so. I was waiting for a price drop on sky caddie but then I found "neo" and waited no more! The Neo fits comfortably in my cargo pant pocket on in my shorts. They're right the clip that it comes with is very loose and it will pop out. I will not be using it!!!
I have not down loaded the courses yet, so I will update when I get that up and running.
I'm very happy so far with my purchase and I love the igolf website for posting my score and getting real time handicap rating.
Pros: Light weight, accurate, great battery life, easy to operate, small, but very readable,
Cons: None so far! ***Will update after I sync my first course and play it! I mapped my own course and it gave me the advantage. I think the "Neo" was made just for me!!!!

| The price is what initially drew me to the igolf neo.. If all you need is yardage to the greens(front/back/center), then this is the GPS for you..Functions exactly as advertised and is very easy to use.. I expierenced one problem transferring the downloaded courses to the NEO, however, customer support was very quick to respond and the problem was quickly resolved.. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone looking to get into the GPS era at a comfortable price . Also I checked the yardage against the cart gps systems of two different courses and it was absolutely correct ... Ken - Norfolk, Va. |

| I purchased my iGolf neo a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with it. The size is small enough to fit in your pocket and not know it is there. I recommend NOT using the belt clip because the device can easily fall out of the holder. The accuracy is the same as the larger iGolf units and the battery life is much better. I played over 54 holes on a single charge. This device is not as fancy as some units but you don't have to pay an annual subscription either. You pay once and download your 100 courses and once you have them, they are yours forever. The unit can store 10 courses in it's internal memory. The rest I keep on a memory stick and upload new courses to the device when I need them. You can map your own courses if you like or add hazards to the hole. I highly recommend this unit and think it is a great buy for less than $150. |

This little gadget works perfectly. A one year membership gets you 100 course downloads....and they never expire. If you find that your favorite golf course isn't mapped, you can do it yourself or request that Igolf does it for you (one per year). I put in my request for a small local course on Monday, and it was done by Wednesday! Their course library is very thorough. Of the 45 courses I looked up, only one had not been mapped.
DO NOT USE THE BELT CRADLE! There's a good chance you'll loose the unit if you do. Just put it in your pocket. It's so small and light that it's not a problem. |
