The 2009 PGA Championship tournament is going to be played between August 10, 2009 and August 16, 2009 at the beautiful Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota. The PGA Championship is a tournament that features the strongest in all of golf, and it has been considered to be one of the largest of all sporting events in the entire world.

Since the year 1916, many of the best professionals in golf have been competing for this coveted trophy, the Wanamaker Trophy, including the likes of Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love II, Sam Snead, Gene Sarazen, Jack Nicklaus, Walter Hagen and Ben Hogan. Tiger Woods is the reigning champion here right now, and he will be returning again to see if he can hoist up the coveted Wanamaker Trophy one final time.

Ever since 1916, the mission for the PGA of America has actually been twofold. First, they aim to establish as well as elevate the standards of the golfing profession, growing participation and interest in the game of golf. By establishing and elevating these standards through world class career services, education, marketing and research, this association is enabling PGA golf professionals to maximize their personal performance in whatever respective career paths while they are showcased as experts in the game and within the golf industry, which is a $76 billion dollar industry at present.

By creating and delivering world class championships that are dramatic such as this one, The PGA works to elevate public interest in the game of golf as well as the desire for more golf to be played, and ensures the accessibility of the game to everyone no matter where they are. The PGA of America brand is designed to represent the very best that golf has to offer.
