The 2009 President's Cup is kicking off on Thursday, and there are six different Foursomes that are going head to head here. First let's take a look at the foursomes that are going head to head in the first round of golf, which is slated to begin today, including:
Tim Clark along with Mike Weir from the International Team are going up against Anthony Kim along with Phil Mickelson from the United States Team.
Adam Scott along with Ernie Els from the International Team are going up against Hunter Mahan along with Sean O'Hair from the United States Team.
Vijay Singh along with Robert Allenby from the International Team are going up against Lucas Glover along with Stewart Cink from the United States Team.
Angel Cabrera along with Camilo Villegas from the International Team are going up against Kenny Perry along with Zach Johnson from the United States Team.
Geoff Ogilvy along with Ryo Ishikawa from the International Team are going up against Tiger Woods along with Steve Stricker from the United States Team.
These are just the foursomes that are playing on Thursday, and the game is slated to become tighter and tighter as this tournament progresses. Some of the biggest names in golf are going head to head during this Presidents Cup championship. This is going to mean big things for some of the players that are going head to head here this week, including Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink.
Many top name golfers are hitting the course this week to defend titles and prove their worthiness against the opposing team. This is a big event for the entire PGA Tour, especially those players that have been going head to head throughout the entire season and are finally looking to make a splash as the season draws to a close.
The Presidents Cup is going to be airing live on the GOLF CHANNEL on Wednesday, on Thursday, and on Friday. The coverage is going to continue on to NBC on both Saturday as well as Sunday:
On Wednesday, Oct. 7 the Opening Ceremonies Live will be hosted on the GOLF CHANNEL at 7 p.m. ET. On Thursday, Oct. 8 the First Round Coverage will be hosted on the GOLF CHANNEL between 3-8 p.m. ET. On Friday, Oct. 9 the Second Round Coverage will be hosted on the GOLF CHANNEL between 2-8 p.m. ET. On Saturday, Oct. 10 the Third & Fourth Round Coverage will be hosted on the NBC channel between 11 a.m.-9 p.m. ET. Finally, on Sunday, Oct. 11the Final Round Coverage will be hosted by NBC between 12 p.m.-6 p.m. ET.
The President's Cup is slated to be held at the Harding Park Golf Course, which is located at 99 Harding Road in San Francisco, California 94132.
