Plus Handicap - This is a player that has an average that is below the par with a plus handicap, and what this means is that he has to add strokes to the total gross in place of subtracting them in order to determine the overall net score.
Pot Bunker - This is a small and deep sand trap with steeper sides.
Preferred Lie - This is a manner, under local rules, by which players are allowed to improve the lie that they have without incurring any type of penalty in the process.
Press - This is an extra bet on the final remaining holes. On the 16th hole for example, a golfer could offer a five dollar press or extra, meaning that he would be on the final three holes.
Professional - This is a player receiving monetary compensation for teaching lessons or playing in tournaments. This word is commonly shortened merely to "pro".
