Gallery - The gallery refers to both the spectators that are watching the game and the areas that are next to the fairways and surrounding the greens where they are able to observe the game.
Gimme - A gimme is described as being a putt that is so easy that an opponent is willing to concede it.
Go To School - This term is meant in order to refer to the act of observing a putt by another player in order to help determine how a similar putt is going to break.
Goose Neck - A club design which has a gently curved neck that causes the club's heel to be set back a small amount from the shaft.
Grain - The grain of the putting area refers to the direction that the grass grows in, this will be the direction that it lies in when it is trimmed short.
Grand Slam - Today's incarnation of the Grand Slam is made up of four important tournaments, and these are the Masters, the US Open, the British open, and the PGA Championship. This term also refers to the feat of one player upon winning all four of the tournaments in one given year.
Grass Cutter - This is described as being a powerful shot that flies low to the ground.
Green - Officially, the green is a term that refers to the whole entire course. However, this term is much more commonly used in order to refer to the putting area of a single particular hole.
Green Committee - The individuals who are responsible for managing and maintaining the course at a golf club.
Green Fee - This is the fee that a player is required to pay in order for him or her to gain access to a golf course.
Green Keeper - This is the employee of a golf club that is in charge of maintaining the entire course.
Grip - This is the part of the shaft of a golf club that the player grasps. This term also sometimes refers to the way that the player actually holds the club during the swing.
Groove - When a player has a consistent swing, this term is used in order to refer to the path the club follows. This term also refers to the channels scored into the club's hitting surface.
Gross - This is the total number of the strokes a player made in a round, rather than the net score, which is described as being the gross score with the player's handicap deducted out of it.
Ground the Club - When it comes to the act of addressing the ball, this term refers to touching the ground by the ball with the club's head.
