Let us begin with one of the most vital elements: the golf ball. The golf ball is a truly essential piece of equipment, vital to the game play. The golf ball always has a minimum diameter requirement and a maximum weight which are 42.67 mm and 45.93 g respectively. The original golf balls were made from feathers and leather, but today's modern designs are synthetic and are put together in multiple layer designs with ballistics and aerodynamics in mind. Golf balls are capable of having soft covers and higher amounts of spin, as well as harder covers, which offer longer distances. There are also RFID technology golf balls that allow the golfer to perfectly pinpoint where a lost golf ball has traveled to.
Golf clubs are broken into categories: putters, drivers, woods, and irons. There are also wedges, which are golf clubs as well, but they are only used for extremely short shots. Woods are the clubs that are used for longer shots from fairways and tees. Putters are most commonly used on the green or in other instances where a shorter shot is necessary. The shaft is between the head of the club and the grip, and it has a circular profile with a thicker end and a thinner end. Most golf clubs today are made from graphite or steel that has been tempered, while there are specialty shafts made from other materials such as wood, aluminum or titanium for example. Shafts are also capable of being tapered.
Golfing equipment is generally carted around using a gym bag, which can be made from leather, nylon or a myriad of other sturdy but light weight materials. They are designed as cylinders, with their main purpose being to hold golfing clubs and other equipment so that it can be transported from hole to hole. Golf bags typically have a myriad of different pockets, allowing for all kinds of golf equipment to be properly transported including golf balls, tees, markers, gloves and other accessories like pencils and score cards for example. Some golf bags even feature large straps to make carrying them easier, especially on larger courses or courses with more holes or greater equipment requirements.
