| Take the guesswork out of your golf game with the GolfBuddy Tour, a true GPS unit with automatic course and hole recognition. The GolfBuddy Tour--which comes pre-loaded with course information from across the world--helps you gain confidence on the course by telling you exactly how far and where to go with every shot. The unit is equipped with a large, easy-to-read screen that gives you the exact distance to greens, bunkers, lakes, lay-up points, and hazards. The view of the green is dynamic, meaning the GolfBuddy Tour changes the shape of the green depending on your angle of approach. Need to know whether the trees on the right are in play, or whether the far bunker is within range of your 7-iron? Just grab the GolfBuddy Tour and it provides all the information you need. Plus, there's no need to aim the GPS to obtain distance information, as the GolfBuddy Tour automatically recognizes your surroundings. Just turn it on and play. How the GolfBuddy Tour Works The GolfBuddy Tour offers a number of features that help you take your golf game to the next level. The score tracking feature, for example, lets you record up to 1,000 rounds, and includes tags for the course and date. This helps you calculate your handicap and track your progress over time. The GolfBuddy Tour also calculates the actual distance you hit with each club--a critical component for lowering your scores. Just mark your starting position, hit your shot, and walk to where the ball landed. And to help you improve your course management skills, the GolfBuddy Tour tracks your distance from the green (front, center, and back) at all times and the distance of all in-play hazards. The unit lists every item that can affect your play, even if you can't see it from your present location. The GolfBuddy Tour even provides the lay-up (approach) and carry distances for each hazard, so you'll know how to effectively bypass the ponds and sand traps that lay in wait. Perhaps the coolest feature, however, is the automatic course recognition. Rather than requiring you to sort through thousands of pre-loaded courses, the GolfBuddy Tour automatically locates your course and hole the minute you turn it on. This helps you keep your mind focused on your game rather than your GPS unit. Additional features include the ability to add up to 11 custom targets per hole, a storage capacity of 20,000 courses, a tough water-resistant housing, a multilingual menu, and a lithium-polymer rechargeable battery. The GolfBuddy Tour--which doesn't require any annual or course download fees--comes with a 90-day warranty.
As you move to the tee box, the GolfBuddy Tour automatically displays the course name, hole number, par, and distance remaining to the green. | Specifications: - GPS channels: 12

Very Pleased, Glad I Went With Golf Buddy Tour

I thought long and hard between the skycaddie and the golf buddy. I was nervous that the Golf Buddy was "too good to be true", but decided on it anyway because of the no yearly fees. All of my golf friends have the skycaddie, so I know that it works great. I took the risk with the golf buddy tour and have been very pleased every round. The yardages are exactly the same as the skycaddie, and my friends are stuck paying $50 a year for the same yardages. Not only is the color screen easy to read and shows up in any lighting, the size of the Golf Buddy is perfect. The skycaddie looks like a walkie-talkie while the golf buddy looks like a sleek electronic gadget.
You will not be disappointed with the GBT. I got it out of the box, charged it, went to Heron Bay Golf Course in Locust Grove, GA, turned on my GBT, it instantly recognized where I was, it knew I was approaching #1 tee, and from there on it gave me accuarate distances to the programmed targets. No syncing, no adding courses, just turned the thing on. Even on an overcast day and a rainy day, the GBT still gave me yardages.
Adding your own target, measuring your shots, and keeping track of your score are all very easy. The skycaddie has about 6-7 buttons while the GBT only has two main buttons. It's a synch to use. Apple might as well have invented the thing.
You'll love it. Spend the extra money up front. If you are a wife or girlfriend, get this for the man in your life. He will be amazed that you made the right choice on the best golf gps there is!
CONS? Are you kidding me? No cons!!! |

| This has made my golf so much more fun. There is nothing like the confidence in KNOWING which club to pull out of the bag. You turn it on as you get your gear out of your car and that is it. It knows which course you are on and give you the yardage to the first hole with out any further intervention. I just clip it onto my bag and go. It has some other feature that I may learn to use over time, but the yardage it what I really needed. Why pay a yearly fee for other brands? Why be limited to five courses stored at a time? Even my local 9 hole course was pre-installed, of course I checked for my favorite courses on the web site first, they were all included already. |

| This is my first GPS range finder and it is seriously the coolest thing ever!!! It is incredibly EASY to use and has a large, easy to read display. I compared it to other GPS units and settled on this one because all the updates are FREE with no monthly service charge, and it stores over 20,000 courses!! |
Very happy I purchased GP Tour GPS

First of all, this is not an advertisement review. I've read some from other sites that sound like a sales guy, or the company it self, wrote it.
I purchased the Golf Buddy Tour GPS in April '09 and it's been great. Of all the features, what helps me the most is the front / back of the green measurements. It really increases my comfort level when picking my club, knowing I won't come up way short when the pins in the back or I won't air-mail the pin when it's up front. That only saves a few shots a round. The easy features I like is that you don't have to select the course either. When I get to the course, it figures out what course I'm at when in auto mode. I'm also not a big fan of subscription rates you get with other GPS's. Overall, it's a good chunk of money to put out but, in my opinion, well worth it. It's the same amount you would pay for a good driver, but with the GB Tour, you use it on ever hole. |

| I looked at all the GPS units over and over, the Golf Buddy has all I wanted. Right out of the box I charged the battery took it to the course and off I went. No problems at all. For the price it's a great unit. No fees, it's all there. I'm sorry I probably can not use it again until spring. It is Mac friendly, some are not. |
Works as advertised, and knows its stuff!

I gave one to my wife for Christmas - she had been _very_ good that year - and we took it along down to Florida. It knew the smaller of two courses at a golf community, and also knows our executive course locally in Maryland. It had no problem finding the course information, and the only confusion came when two tee boxes were right next to each other. Moving a few feet closer to the proper tee box solved that; it gave us yardages to all sorts of hazards; all in all, it did exactly what it said it would, with no muss or fuss.
The only bad mark goes not against the unit, but the web site; perhaps it was overwhelmed on Christmas morning, but the registration process would not complete. We'll try again and see how it goes then...
Terrific unit, glad I bought it! (And so is the missus...) |

| I purchased this product for my husband. I was a little hesitant at first because he is far sighted and I wasn't sure if he would be able to see the numbers on the display. To my surprise you can adjust the brightness and tweak the settings and he can see them just fine. He said it is absolutely helpful in showing him the distance to the pin for him to choose the right club without second guessing. He carries it with him all the time when we play, no matter which course we are playing. I would definitely recommend this product! |

| I bought the Golf Buddy Tour model and was able to take it to my local golf course right out of the box and start using it. It took about two minutes to recognize the course. I've checked various distances out to the greens with my friends GPS' and it reads within a couple of yards of theirs. Only problem I had was that I was unable to update new course information from the Golf Buddy website with my Mac. Golf Buddy customer service told me they were in the process of rectifying that and sometime in April their system would be Mac-compatible. |

| Received the Golf Buddy Tour GPS Range Finder as a birthday gift from my husband. It works GREAT! You don't have to input any courses they are all in there for you....has thousands pre loaded from every state. Like the color version better than the black and white and the price through Amazon was much less than any golf store in our area. |

Just love this little buddy!! Easy to use. Can't believe how many courses one can get on it. Plus more if we need to get them. Just call them or go to the net and download them. No more paying $50 a year to have one. (Been that route) Was about to pay again when a friend showed me hers!!! So went for it and do really love it.

The Best GPS

| I bought GOLFBUDDY GPS about 1year ago. My course is located in Tampa so that a lot of golf courses are very located nearby.I will arrive in golf course and put on and tee off at No1 tee. No1 hole is full view. In case I start from No8 in shot gun tournament and just on and will show me No8 without any headach. I will get stuck at no 15 because of ladies day there so that I will go back to No12. My GPS show me No12 right away. I went to Hawaii this summer and played MAKAHA golf course where 2 courses located within 1 mile of each other ( WEST and EAST),but did not have any problem. I was so impressed that my wife bought GOLFBUDDY PRO 1 week ago. She is very beginner in computer. She like it.She put on and play and come home and charge it and play tomorrow again. Both of us play golf 6 days a week. This GOLFBUDDY-PRO is now down in price to $280 range { I bought for $450.} We like them.A+++++++++++++++. The BEST.My Buddy have Skycaddy but has to use compuer to renew and got to vacation and have to use computer to load new course. He can not play in shot gun from No8 without head ach. He will consider Golfbuddy next time.(He is very, very rich man.) |
A Great Golf GPS

| I read all the reviews and compared all the features of golf GPS's before selecting the Golf Buddy Pro. I especially liked the feature that all the courses and course information were already loaded on the unit or available for free from the Golf Buddy website. And of course, that large color screen. When I received the unit, I immediately put it on the charger while I reviewed the User Manual...it's pretty slim because the unit does most functions automatically. The next day I went golfing. Within 5 minutes, the unit initallized and indicated I was on the first hole of Highlands Reserve. The unit advanced automatically hole by hole without any user input from me. The GPS seems very accurate and the screen is exceptionally bright in all lighting conditions. I did notice that if your riding a cart, it takes a few seconds for the unit to stablize after stopping before giving an accurate distance. I am now using some of the more advanced features including adding and editing my own hazards, measuring distances hit, and keeping track of my scores. Ok, does it really help your game. The answer is yes! |
