When it comes to instructional golf DVD’s the content can be a bit dry, but this was one DVD that completely broke that mold. By incorporating funny little movies, and some world class tips from professional golfers, The Ultimate Golf Learning Experience is really just that. Whether you’re brand new to the game, or just looking for a few tips to shave off some points, this one is well worth the time.
You’ll be getting four DVDs with this package, but they are all double sided. In total, the run time is more than 900 minutes, so you are certainly getting your money’s worth here. We were surprised at just how much was crammed onto this collection, and considering the overall low price, we would have been happy with just two DVDs. It’s always nice to see an instructional DVD that over delivers.
Experts like Fred Couples, Tom Kite and many others are all included here, sharing their tips on how to improve your game. The collection featured a good mix of short useful tips, combined with more intensive instruction. You won’t run the risk of getting bored with this one and the methods of teaching are very engaging and quite fun.
Our favorite DVD was the fourth, which covers everything you learned in the first three, and provides you with step by step instructions on how to get everything done. If you’re on a limited time schedule and you already have some experience in golf, go ahead and skip to this one to save time. You’ll still be getting the benefit of the entire series, but you’ll be able to just get right to the point.
Game drills are provided to help you improve your skills and keep putting the lessons learned to good use. Beginners will truly like Disc One since it covers everything you could ever possibly need to know about golf, and then some. Disc 2 has some great lessons from Wally Armstrong, which definitely should not be missed. Disc 3 is really more about the tools you can use and is more of a sales DVD, so again, if you’re pressed for time, you can skip this DVD and get on to the fourth one.
Overall, this is the perfect golf instructional DVD for beginners, but pros won’t feel left out either. The tips on how to beat a scratch golfer are worth the cost of the collection alone and there are numerous other lessons that would cost a pretty penny if you were getting them from the on-course pro. The Ultimate Golf Learning Experience is quite possibly the best teaching tool we’ve come across in a long time and we highly recommend it.
This would be the perfect gift for any golfer, and for those that are sick of watching instructionals, the included short movie is terrific for a laugh. It stars Gordon Jump, best known as the Maytag Repairman, and it is also well worth the time. If you get only one golf DVD this year, this should be it.
