What this means is that peripheral weighted clubs are ideal for players who are just getting started or who are still inconsistent in their hitting capabilities. Many of the best players in the world also use these clubs as well, so you should not feel as if you are going to be judged when it comes to the irons that you choose.
The wood is going to be the long hitter out of the clubs in your golf bag. The wood can be used anywhere from the tee or from the fairway. Wood is the traditional material that is used in creating golf clubs, and many people who play golf at its highest levels still favor this material for the clubs that they use. Those who depend on wooden drivers speak of the workability and the control that they offer, because they allow these players to shape their shots more easily and more readily, and so these players prefer the feel and the sound that the wood offers when it impacts with the ball.
Just like the traditional irons, wooden clubs are unforgiving when it comes to any kind of inconsistently in your shoot. Advances that have been made in the last twenty years regarding material design have seen the development of woods that are made from metal shell as well, and these are now dominating the amateur golf game quite readily. They were originally shaped similarly to their wooden predecessors but now they have experienced a metamorphosis into all kinds of different sizes and shapes. The hollow shell that they offer allows for a greater weight distribution across the surface of the club head, and they offer similar additional benefits to the peripheral weighted iron club.
One the downside of these clubs, however, many good players opt not to use a metal driver because they believe that it is more difficult for them to shape and to control the ball with their swings. Graphite club heads have surfaced to offer an even greater selection of benefits, but for most golfers they are beyond the basic golfing equipment budget. As with everything in the market surrounding golf equipment, trial and error tends to be an absolutely essential part of choosing the right clubs for your own personal needs. If a club is doing wonders for your driving ability and your confidence, then who is going to tell you that it isn't worth the money that you paid?
When it comes to the shaft, think about it this way: The importance of what is between the club head and your hands is really understated, but not by anyone that truly knows the game. Shafts come in three different flexes, which are soft flex, regular flex and stiff flex. As a result, the stronger and better that the player is, the stiffer that the shaft should be in response is a general rule that most people follow.
