Here is a look at the final round leader board from the United States Open which was weather delayed. The par 70 course was a black course staged in Farmingdale in New York this past Monday.
- Lucas Glover of the United States came in at -4, taking first place in the tournament.
- Phil Mickelson of the United States came in at -2, taking second place in the tournament.
- David Duval of the United States took third place in the tournament with 2 under par.
- Fourth place went to Ricky Barnes, also from the United States with 2 under par.
- Fifth place went to Ross Fisher of Britain with -1 under par.
- Sixth place went to Tiger Woods of the United States with -1 under par.
- Seventh place went to Soren Hansen from Denmark with -1 under par.
- Eighth place went to Hunter Mahan of the United States with -1 under par.
- Ninth Place went to Henrik Stenson of Sweden with 1 over par.
The tail end of the US Open tournament was held at the black course at Bethpage State Park, finally experiencing an end to the weather that had delayed a good portion of the tournament. Lucas Glover was able to take his frustration at golf out on the soggy field while other players like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods struggled to keep going. Despite the fact that some of the more notable players fell short during the tail end of the tournament, Glover managed by some means to hold things together. His short time spent away from golf allowed him to somehow become a better golfer, and now he is walking away as a U.S. Open champion.
Glover walked away with a final round 73, which is a number that may not exactly appear sexy on paper, but it is still a win, which is good news for him. The final round 73 game him a five day and four round total of 4 strokes under 276. The round was a nervy one for a player that only managed to win one time in six seasons worth of PGA tour playoffs. The names that kept coming at him along the way, including Duval, Mickelson and Barnes were unable to keep him down this time around as all three players were two shots away at a 278 to Glover's 276.
Nobody really expected for Glover to be the winner this season at the Open. The only reason the tournament lasted until Monday was because the tournament had been so badly hampered by rains at its start. Glover's final golf round began at nightfall on Sunday night before stretching into Monday morning. This win is definitely a surprise for him as well as everyone else in the tournament, but it may have been exactly what Glover needed to see him into his return to golf again.

In 2006, the Nike SasQuatch Sumo won the Golf Digest magazine's Editor's Choice award, providing that it would be difficult for this driver to be improved upon. What made the original Nike SasQuatch Sumo so great is what makes the new Nike SasQuatch Sumo 460 even better. The Nike SasQuatch Sumo 460 has a new Nike PowerBow gemotry, which results in a much higher MOI, which is 4950g cm2, veruses the old 4650g cm2. For this reason, clearly the Nike SasQuatch Sumo 460 is able to offer even more distance and forgiveness than ever before, proving that it is possible to improve on a good thing like the Nike SasQuatch of days old.
This golf club is certainly quite easy to hit, and you can really work the ball with this driver. Even if you are a lefty, you can make this driver work for you. Nike offers drivers that are a few grams heavier than what I have used in the past, and offers a few yards more in terms of power and delivery. The Nike SasQuatch Sumo 460 also offers a sharper and louder ball strike noise. I also feel like the Nike SasQuatch Sumo 460 is better looking than other clubs that I have used, making it my driver of choice on many courses.
Model - Nike SasQuatch Sumo 8.5 Stiff
Review - After playing with both a 9.5 and an 8.5, it has been decided that this is the best club we've ever hit with. We demoed everything from a tour burner TP to the Cobra lvl4, and the Nike was found to be the longest, the straightest and the most forgiving club that we ended up hitting. We highly suggest the Nike SasQuatch Sumo if you want to learn how to hit both long and straight consistently.
Model - Nike Sasquatch Sumo 13 degree driver
Review - I have been playing golf rather consistently for about five months now, and for a long time, I was having trouble understanding why I could not hit the ball past 225 with a driver, despite considering myself to be a good athlete. I bought a Nike Sasquatch Sumo 13 degree driver on eBay for only $80, and immediately I realized that there was no possible way for me to ever find a better driver. Now I am consistently hitting the ball 25 - 275 without a slice. I would like to think that part of this has to do with me simply getting better, but from the moment I tried using this club for the first time, I have been hitting absolutely beautiful shots. I also really love the sound off of the club as well. If you are a beginner and need a driver that will deliver outstanding results no matter how much experience that you have, then I highly recommend the Nike Sasquatch Sumo 13 degree driver and the other product in the Nike SasQuatch line, because these clubs are incredible!

If you, just like many other golfers before you, are looking for ways to improve your game as well as to lower your score, then you probably know that the best way that you can possibly improve your golf game is to find the keys to improving your golf swings, which will allow you to open the door separating you from the next level of your golf game. So do you want to know what keys are out there and how you can use them to your greatest possible level of advantage? Keep reading, as we are going to touch on three keys that will improve your golf swing right now.
- * One of the simplest and most straight forward golf swing techniques that you should try out is simply to film yourself swinging so that you can analyze the motions that you make and take. This is a truly effective method of analyzing what you are doing, and it can give you an incredible advantage over players. If you need help, ask a friend to do the filming for you. If you sit down and actually analyze your golfing abilities the way a trainer would, then this can pay off significantly in a small amount of time by allowing you to identify your own weak points, rather than having to pay an expensive trainer to tell you what your weak points are.
- * Although this should go without saying, you absolutely need to be able to concentrate yourself while you are taking a swing. Mental fitness is one of the most important keys to success. You need to train your brain to take the swing correctly and you will be able to achieve the quick results that you are looking for. You need a good golf fitness guide that is going to improve not only your physical fitness but also your mental fitness as well. If you have the right tools, then your needs will be met and your golf game will surely be improved.
- * Finally, you need to take the time to improve your stance. Making improvements in your stance can really go a long way when it comes to improving your golf swing and making sure that you do not slice the ball. If your stance is solid and sturdy, then you will not slice the ball nearly as often. You should put your shoulders up, and you should be taking care to stay ahead of the ball. Your stance should actually be about as wide as your shoulders, and your right foot should be straight to the ball with the left foot pointed slightly in the direction of the left. Film yourself if you are unsure about whether or not you are maintaining the right stance, and analyze yourself so that you can improve your game.

Jack Nicklaus was born on January 21 in 1940, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest professional golfers of all time, known as the Golden Bear. He has excellent records in many major championships, including 18 professional majors in a 25 year PGA Tour career, lasting from 1962 until 1986. He also won 8 tour majors between 1990 and 1996 with the Champions Tour. He still holds those records today. He has also taken part in numerous off course activities, including but not limited to golf instruction book writing, golf course design, running his own PGA Tour tournament and starting his own golf equipment company. Together with Arnold Palmer and Gary Player, these "big three" have been credited with turning golf into what it is today, which is a popular spectator sport.
Where He is Now -
Nicklaus retired from professional tournament golf in 2005. On March 1, 2005, his grandson Jake was killed in a drowning accident, and Jack began to play golf only as therapy for his grief with his son, Steve. Steve suggested, however, that he return to the Masters tournament, so he made the April 2005 Masters Tournament his final tournament. He played the Champions Tour Bayer Advantage Classic in Kansas in June of 2005 and that was his final competitive tournament. His professional career was finished on July 15 of that year with the Open Championship. While he is no longer playing professionally, Jack Nicklaus participates in golf course design, the publishing of golf instruction books, and his own golf equipment company that manufactures three distinctive lines of golf equipment.
Career Highlights -
During his career on the PGA Tour, Jack Nicklaus managed to accumulate a total of 18 major championships, which is still the record, as well as 73 different PGA Tour victories, second only to a golfer named Sam Snead. He also holds a record for having the most Masters wins, which is currently at 6. He played on six different Ryder cup teams, and captained the team twice as well. He is also known for topping the PGA money list a total of eight different times.
- Total of 73 PGA Tour win
- Total of 18 Major Championship Wins
- 6 Masters Wins
- 6 Different Ryder Cup Teams
- Eight Times Top on the Money List
Interesting and Inspirational Quotes -
"Confidence is the most important single factor in this game, and no matter how great your natural talent, there is only one way to obtain and sustain it: work."
"I never hit a shot, not even in practice, without having a very sharp, in-focus picture of it in my head. First I see the ball where I want it to finish, nice and white and sitting up high on the bright green grass. Then the scene quickly changes, and I see the ball going there: its path, trajectory, and shape, even its behavior on landing. Then there is a sort of fade-out, and the next scene shows me making the kind of swing that will turn the previous images into reality."
"How people keep correcting us when we are young! There is always some bad habit or other they tell us we ought to get over. Yet most bad habits are tools to help us through life."

Robert Trent Jones II designed this truly remarkable course that is nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills. This is truly a marvelous course both in terms of challenging play and sheer natural beauty. We really enjoyed the fact that the designer kept many of the natural elements of the course intact and were pleasantly surprised by our whole stay here. If you're looking for a fun but challenging course that features heart stopping beauty, this is definitely one to try.
What You Need to Know:
The course has a pretty strict dress code, and denim is forbidden. Collared shirts are a must for both men and women and the dress code also applies on the driving range. The course management also requests that all players use soft spikes. They can help you change them out at the pro shop if you don't have your own.
We really enjoyed the GPS carts at this course and the facilities were truly remarkable. This is by far one of the nicest kept courses we've seen in some time and the staff really will go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The fees are quite low considering the level of service that you get and overall, we hated to leave! The grill has some terrific food and the club house is very nicely appointed.
You can register your tee time by calling the number listed above, and it's also a good idea to check their website for specials before you do. Although their fees aren't high, they do have some really great deals that they post every month.
Playing Hints:
You really won't be dealing with a lot of sand traps or water hazards, especially when compared to some courses, but that doesn't mean that this course isn't challenging. The natural terrain is your worst enemy here, as are the trees and rock walls that spring up all over the place. You'll really need to work on accuracy and power here. The fairways are narrow and tree lined and we found most of them to be quite long.
Our favorite hole was the 12th and it is a challenge to say the least. The green is situated above the fairway and it is very easy to go too long if you're not careful. On the plus side though, if you do hit it a little long and to the right, there is a natural slope down that will deposit your ball right back on the green.

Although in Farmingdale, New York, the rain has been upsetting large portions of the PGA United States Open golf tournament, Ricky Barnes managed to shoot an even par 70 on Sunday, allowing him to maintain the lead that he has been carrying following three rounds this last weekend.
The weather in Long Island seemed to cooperate just long enough for the field to be open for the beginning of the tournament's fourth round in the latter half of the afternoon on Sunday. The rain may have delayed things a bit, and muddied up the course, but that has not discouraged eager players from hitting the links for the latter half of the PGA U.S. Open golf tournament. At the time, Barnes was sitting at just 8 under for the entire tournament, placing him ahead of Lucas Glover by a single shot and ahead of Phil Mickelson by a solid six strokes.
The tournament has been a real struggle for many of the players involved, including Ricky Barnes, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. The game is far from over, however, as there is still another day of play to go. The final round of this tournament is not slated to be completed until Monday.
Mickelson managed to shoot a score of 69 on Sunday, and he is going to have to find a way to get past both David Duval and Ross Fisher who were both tied at 5 strokes under for the tournament. Tiger Woods managed to shoot his way to 2 strokes under with a score of 68 on Sunday, which was the low score for the day, but for the sum of the tournament he is actually sitting at the back of the pack, which means that he is tied in 15th place at 1 stroke over par for the entire span of the tournament so far. Although Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are both more than capable of turning things around, Ricky Barnes is still perceived to be the tournament favorite.
Ricky Barnes, who originally began the tournament sitting at 519th place in the entire world, has had his toughest round yet after shooting a 67 followed by a 65 on the tournament's first two days. On the fourth hole, he managed to eagle a par 5, which somewhat seemed to offset five bogeys, which four times out of five managed to occur on the back nine. He has managed to carry a lead across most of the tournament so far, and appears to be a favorite for the final day of the tournament, which is slated for Monday, June 22, 2009.
Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson managed to have four different birdies and two different bogeys on those tricky final nine holes. Tiger Woods managed to play a steady round including a bogey which was on the 14th hole as well as three birdies, which were played on holes 3, 4 and then hole 17 as well.
