Course History:
This public course was named in honor of a city manager from Sacramento and first opened its doors in 1995. It's been a popular course ever since and combines some great values with challenging play. It's not too tough of a course, but most pros will find it fun to play.
What You Need to Know:
You can book your tee time using their online registration system or by calling the number listed above. Since this is a public course, the restrictions on dress aren't as tight, but we still recommend wearing a collared shirt and slacks.
The practice facilities here are top notch and many people go just for these. You'll also enjoy the friendly atmosphere in the club house and the pro shop is completely stocked with all of the latest golf gear and apparel.
Playing Hints:
When playing this course, you're going to be dealing with a lot of slopes. You'll probably want to get a cart unless you are in great shape. It can get pretty difficult after a while. The first few holes are "confidence builders" and can really make you think that you're going to ace this hole. Things go downhill a bit after the fourth hole though and you may find yourself struggling to hold onto the scores you managed to get right off the bat.
By far, the one hole you're going to want to watch out for is the seventeenth hole. It has an island green that can wear out the best players. You're really going to want to work on your accuracy before tackling this hole. The eighteenth hole is a dog leg, but if you play it a bit to the right, you can make up for any ground you lost on the last hole.
